The Department of Accountancy and Taxation in the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, non-tenure-track Professor of Practice in the Department of Accountancy and Taxation starting Fall 2026. Candidates must be committed to teaching excellence, curriculum development, community engagement, and professional development. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D in Accounting or Master’s degree and professional experience in this field. A strong background in tax, audit, and oil and gas accounting, along with a professional certification, would be a plus.
With over 5,700 undergraduate students and over 800 graduate students, the Bauer College of Business offers B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees; M.S. degrees in accountancy, finance, energy management, marketing and supply chain; and Ph.D. degrees in business. The Department of Accountancy and Taxation is separately accredited by the AACSB and offers innovative programs. It is one of only twelve programs in the world recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
